Unbreakable

Kennedy Waters doesn't believe in ghosts, until one tries to kill her. Several weeks after discovering her mother has died from an apparent heart attack, Kennedy wakes up to a possessed cat that is trying to strangle her.  That night Kennedy meets Lucas and Jared, members of the Legion - and becomes a member herself.  The Legion is seeking a weapon which will prevent a powerful demon from leaving his dimension and entering their own. Fast-paced action, a fair amount of creepiness, a trail of clues uncovered as they travel, and a cast of five characters propel this first installment of The Legion series.

This book gets darker and darker as it unfolds. It's very creepy and not what I would call a gentle read. But as horror/ghost story fiction goes, I thought it was very well executed. What do you think?

I loved Unbreakable by Kami Garcia so much that I couldn't stop reading it until I finished and just had to get the sequel. That's probably 'cause I really enjoy reading books with paranormal actuation in it. But this isn't just about creepy things happening with ghosts and all, it's also about friendship and even love. Kennedy isn't sure she belongs, but her friends Jared, Lukas , Alara , and Priest need her. They're the only ones who can save their world and defeat the Devil himself, Andras. If you like paranormal genres, love stories and epic battle, you'll love this book.

So glad you enjoyed this one. If you liked the relationships aspect of this one, you might want to try "The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight," and "Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie." They are in the realistic fiction genre, with an emphasis on relationships.

Unbreakable was about Kennedy as she experiences tragedy and new exciting experiences. She is talented as an artist, and so her talent on the Legion team is summoning and destroying spirits and demons. She gains confidence in herself and gains friends in other members of the Legion.
Before reading this book, I rarely read realistic paranormal fiction. However, I found that I enjoyed this book. One of my favorite parts was the relationships and the realistic interactions in the book and the written dialogue between the characters.
Another part I liked was how the teenagers acted like teenagers—as close to teenagers as they could be with demon hunting and fighting.
Overall, this book was very good and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance, paranormal fiction, and friendship stories.
